Where can I find a storage unit with electricity near me?

Last updated October 2026

Start with facilities that already say they have power, then call to confirm. This site lists 517 of them across 59 city pages, each with the line from the facility’s own website that mentions power.

The cities with the most listings right now:

The big chains don’t make this easy. U-Haul’s storage finder lets you filter by type, such as climate control, indoor, drive-up, and RV storage, but not by electricity. The Public Storage search page filters by unit type and size, with no power filter we could find. Extra Space’s advice is to call a nearby facility “and ask about units with power.”

Storage marketplaces do let you search by this feature. SpareFoot and SelfStorage.com both have electricity searches. Treat their results as leads, since a listing may not say which unit has the outlet.

Whatever you use, finish with a phone call. Ask:

  • Do you have a unit with an outlet inside it open right now?
  • How many amps, and is power included in the rent?
  • What can I plug in, and can I leave it plugged in?

If nothing near you lists power, call the independent facilities anyway. Smaller operators sometimes have a powered unit or two they don’t advertise, and some will tell you about a waitlist.
